Those with a high fitness rating are more likely to live active lifestyles. Most of us agree, they are healthier, happier and have better self-esteem, yet so many of us still choose to sit at home on the couch while we watch television, or go to the gym only to sweat and sweat. Although that may be fine for those with less active lifestyles, we should all take steps to improve our fitness levels to help us live healthier, more active lifestyles.

A good example is to improve your cardiovascular fitness (i.e., your pulse rate) so that you don’t just need to go to the gym for 30 minutes a half hour to get all the exercises you need to do for your heart-health.

If you do all the right exercises, you’ll have a high level of fitness. But you dont have to be a marathon runner to enjoy the benefits of exercise. One of the best things that a person can do to improve their fitness is to just walk around their neighborhood. The benefits of walking are endless, starting with the fact that it is a great activity for your heart, lungs and brain all at the same time.
